I'm not quite sure if anyone will understand what I'm trying to say, but I'm going to attempt to put into words how I feel about today's society. Follow me if you will.
Picture an interstate highway. Imagine this highway is the highway of our evolution. Our evolution being the evolution of our thoughts and changing of ideas as we progress towards whatever it is our existence leads us to. And our vehicle is our society.
This highway will eventually end up at its destination, (or so I assume) but there is a problem. Every interstate highway has multiple exits. Roads that take us off of our intended course, for whatever reason.
It's as simple as this. Our society, or whoever was in the driver's seat, has taken an exit. We have all been mislead down this road and the only thing leads to is a continuous loop. A loop that we have been driving around in for quite some time now. Just one big circle that we continue to follow. Commercial music, that perfect model body people get so worried about, religion, etc. Really any type of this mislead conformity is what feeds this loop. This is where we are. Our society is going in circles, taking the same path over and over again. Our nature as human beings, our evolution cannot progress down this highway if we are stuck in this loop.
Our generation MUST be the generation to finally say something to our driver. To say "Hey, I'm not sure if you've noticed, but we've been traveling in a circle. Let's try to find our way back to the highway." We have to be the ones that point ourselves back in the right direction. Otherwise, what are we doing? What progress are we making? It would seem that we aren't.
But it has been in front of us all along. Certain parts of our society have been able to grow. We all have been able to see that we aren't really going anywhere, even though we are still moving.
Anyway, that's sort of how I see it. If you see what I'm saying lemme know, and how all these relates to Marijuana use, is an entire analogy of its own. ;)
